South Mississippi Regional Library

Mission Statement

         

The South Mississippi Regional Library, serving Marion and Jefferson Davis counties, with libraries located in Columbia, Bassfield, and Prentiss,

provides resources and information for the educational and recreational

needs of its customers.  

 

The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service offers patrons access to collections beyond what is held in the SMRL libraries, allowing patrons to request items to be sent to their local library. ILL services are available to anyone holding an SMRL  Public Library with the following restrictions:

1. SMRL provides interlibrary loan services to registered patrons whose user record circulation status is “OK.” Meaning: Patron's information is up-to-date and the Patron does not owe any fines.

2. Item(s) available for request through interlibrary loan are print books in both regular and large print.  

3. The patron interlibrary loan period is based on lending library’s due date. Library staff will adjust the patron due-date, accordingly, allocating adequate time for mailing.

4.  If requested items are not picked up by the requesting patron within seven days, the item(s) may be returned to the lending library. ​
